why we love tangerine tango

Last January, I asked you to join me in my color resolutions for the year ahead. It was more of a silent protest against Honeysuckle, but they were resolutions and I did my best to stick to them. Throughout the months, I dove into the world of neutrals (great success), pastels (still a little Easter-y for my taste) and the unexpected (bring on the purple!). They all had their perks, but it looks like the unexpected is here to stay for another year thanks to Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year: Tangerine Tango.

Tangerine Tango (Pantone 17-1463) is a deep red-orange that packs the vigor, punch and bravery that Pantone claimed Honeysuckle had last year. It has been popping up in interior design and runways across the globe in the last few months and shows no intention of slowing down. in the graphic design world, Tangerine Tango has also made a statement. At faucethead creative we’ve been proud to work alongside Pattern Recognition, a company that has incorporated orange into the face of their brand. In a world of templated blue and green technical sites, Pattern Recognition has personality, warmth and an abundance of energy with their unique color choice.

Whether it’s a website, a hang bag, an interior accent or an unexpected shade of lipstick, Tangerine Tango has easily earned the faucethead creative stamp of approval, which is not always an easy thing to do.
