fc font friday // league gothic
Most business professionals face difficult decisions every day, but none of them compare to the decision a designer makes every time they open their font library. With usually hundreds, if not thousands, of typefaces to choose from, the task is daunting. A poor font choice can make or break a design, a client meeting or even the mood of a piece. Over the years, faucethead creative has amassed quite the font library, so one Friday each month we’re going to share one of our favorites with you. They may be free downloads, expensive classics or whimsical single-time use fonts, but one way or another, they’ve done the job for us. We’ll start off with a free one this week, so you can add it to your own collection. Meet League Gothic.
A revival of an old classic, League Gothic is a strong sans-serif that has served us well in headlines, advertisement copy, websites and most other projects that have crossed our desks. It’s legible, bold and has enough flair to catch a person’s attention without distracting them from the message. While we’re definitely drawn to sans-serif fonts in general (see our logo?), this one keeps us coming back again and again for good reason.
