“I’d seen them above the island many times but never knew what they were — these silent birds floating in the stratosphere like giant angular kites.
After some research, I was amazed to learn that the Magnificent Frigatebird can spend up to twelve days on wing. I know these creatures are hovering in search of food but, seeing them floating sentry day-in and out, I feel as though they are keeping watch over the island and its people.”
